Andrea Hinnen

Andrea Hinnen, born and raised in Switzerland, entered the fashion industry as a qualified window dresser (Modissa, Zurich; Grand Passage, Geneva).

She studied Textile/Surface Design at the State University College of Design, FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) in New York, where famous designers such as Donna Karan, Calvin Klein and Chie Mihara have also studied.

Afterwards, she spent about seven years in the fashion metropolis of New York, gaining a variety of professional experience; among other things, she worked as a freelancer for various textile design agencies, creating original prints for major fashion houses such as Gap, Ann Taylor, Tommy Hilfiger and J.Crew.

After completing an additional degree in Fashion Marketing at the New School University (Parsons School of Design), Andrea Hinnen moved from New York to Seville in Spain, where she worked for about five years as a textile designer. In 2005 she returned to Switzerland, founded her own label, AQUABOOT and created the swim shorts collections for men, which she sold to renowned European department stores. In 2011 she made the leap from wholesale to retail, opening her own shop, ANDREA HINNEN in Zurich and expanding her range under the same label with a whole range of new products, particularly collections for women.
